A London Evacuees Memoirs
Don McDouall was evacuated from wartime London in September 1939 to the small village of East Hanney. He spent most of the next thirteen years living in the area. The old canal played a part in his young life. In 1952 Don immigrated to Australia under the guardianship of "The Big Brother Movement". This is a fascinating glimpse of a a time now past. The 160 page, A4 size book is only available directly from Don. (My copy took less than a week to arrive). If you would like to purchase a copy please email
